Cultural Day planned for Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory

Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory is hosting a Cultural Day for its community members in September.

The event is being hosted by the Community Wellness Sub Committee with four workshops: cultural teachings, traditional art, historical teachings and land-based teachings with a focus on the Western Door Way.

One session will run during the day for students, parents and caregivers with a second session in the evening for those who were not able to attend the day session.

The event will take place at Thunder Bay Park on September 29th and community members are asked to register.

Three more days with a focus on culture will be held every three months to welcome the different seasons.
