The Ministry of Natural Resources is studying lakes across Ontario over the summer monitoring fish populations and looking for invasive species. In Algoma Manitoulin lakes being checked include Whiskey, Agnew, Panache, Quirke and Matinenda. The parts of the lakes being monitored will be marked with buoys and nets and the MNR doesn’t want you touching them. The ministry is studying the lakes to determine if size limits are necessary in the future.
