Long-term care employee charged with assaulting a resident

The East Algoma OPP has arrested an Elliot Lake woman following the alleged assault of a resident of a long-term care facility.

Constable Phil Young says the police were called out to Mississauga Avenue on August 4th to investigate an assault of a resident from a local retirement home.

He says the investigation determined that back on July 29th a resident of the retirement home was physically assaulted by an employee.

Young says the 58-year-old woman from Elliot Lake was charged with assault and forcible confinement.

He adds she is to appear in Elliot Lake court on October 4th.
