Espanola welcomes cross-country vintage vehicle tour

A love of travel, vintage vehicles and country are what motivates an Ontario man to take on an annual cross-country tour of Canada.

Barry Ramsay of Little Britain Ontario says he and his wife, Karen, have taken part in the Canadian Coasters Cross-Country Tour four times so far.

He says he started out in Newfoundland at the end of July and expects to arrive in Victoria, British Columbia September 5th.

Ramsay says the event started in 1967 with over 400 antique vehicles taking part and admits the pandemic and cost of fuel have had an effect this year with the average trip costing some $10,000 in gas alone.

However, he says along the way, they have been able to take in the beauty of Canada, take part in events and meet so many wonderful people who have made them welcome.
