Espanola to host Trans-Canada vintage car tour

The National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada is once again hosting its annual Canadian Coasters Tour, which plans an overnight stop in Espanola.

Espanola Elks spokesperson Wanda Ouimette says the local Knights Cruisers Club will be hosting the tour of vintage vehicles at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex this Friday.

Early in 1966 a group from Ontario, the Historical Automobile Club of Canada, started to promote the idea to have an Antique Car Tour that travelled across Canada as part of the 1967 Centennial celebration.

Ouimette adds participants left Newfoundland late last week and are making their way to Canada’s west coast.

She says the public is invited to come out and see the vehicles, talk to the owners and enjoy the overnight visit.

Ouimette adds the Elks is hosting a chicken dinner as well, so anyone interested in tickets can contact the hall or call her. It is $13.00 a plate, so if you want tickets please call 249 878 8853 leave a message, text or private message her.
