Outbreak at MHC in Little Current

If you visit either hospital site on Manitoulin Island, except to follow COVID-19 mandates including always wearing a mask.

Manitoulin Health Centre publicist Kelly Timmermans says there is an outbreak of COVID-19 at the Little Current site.

She says two or more patients have tested positive for the virus, so the administration restricts visitors to those in palliative care, under 18 or in obstetrics. Still, the Emergency Department remains open 24-7 to the public.

Timmermans adds COVID-19 protocols including wearing masks are being implemented immediately in both Little Current and Mindemoya to protect patients, staff and visitors.
