Elliot Lake’s 94.1 FM – The Moose is assisting the Elliot Lake Emergency Food Bank this week with a radiothon.
Dan Marchisella, the Mayor of Elliot Lake, says the food bank provides groceries and other supplies to people in need, whether it is someone who accesses the services on a regular basis or as an emergency.
He stresses people do not realize the circumstances some others find themselves in and someone can end up homeless due to unforeseen circumstances and need the help of the wider community to get back on their feet.
Marchisella adds the radiothon runs from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and invites the public to make donations at the front of the station, at the food bank or electronically.
