The City of Elliot Lake will not be hosting its annual Uranium Festival Parade this year due to a lack of time and volunteers.
According to the release, the city states there is simply not enough participation to go ahead with it.
To offset that loss, city hall has introduced a decorating contest for residents and businesses asking them to dress up to not only honour the mining heritage of the city, but also to celebrate Canada Day.
The deadline to enter is June 30 with prizes to be won.
