Drug charges after vehicle stop

East Algoma OPP has charged an Elliot Lake resident with drug charges following a traffic stop.

Constable Phil Young says last Friday evening officers were on patrol on Highway 108 in Elliot Lake when they spotted a car on Mountain Road.

He says officers knew the vehicle was being driven by an unlicensed driver, pulled him over after confirming he was a suspended driver and placed him under arrest.

He says after a search of the car, they found approximately 60 suspected methamphetamine pills, over 134 grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine, a digital scale, and over $2,000 in cash.
