Mantha expects new leader to be in place quickly

Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha says he expects the process to find a new provincial leader to lead the NDP party will take place quickly.

He says the process starts tomorrow with a caucus meeting, then select an interim leader, host a nomination process, then elect a new party leader.

NDP leader Andrea Horwath announced her resignation after last week’s election results where she lost her bid for premier for the fourth time.

Mantha adds as official opposition, he will be bringing the biggest issues of the riding, health care, housing and voter apathy to the attention of the caucus.
