Students at Elliot Lake Secondary School were introduced to a world-renowned chef known for his knowledge and skills in Indigenous cooking.
Elliot Lake Secondary School teacher Mitch Landriault says Indigenous Chef Gerry Brandon shared his teachings and skills with students last week.
Brandon who hails from Dokis First Nation, has opened nine restaurants, and travelled across Canada developing his craft of fusing dishes using First Nation, French and English influences.
He spent three days at the school adds Landriault with students making various dishes from scratch including venison tacos, rabbit risotto and others.
Landriault says it was a unique experience for the students, one he is sure they appreciated.
