Our Lady of Fatima School in Elliot Lake celebrated the opening of the school chapel with an official naming followed by a blessing.
Principal Andrew Chi says last Thursday, school staff and students were joined by school board officials, volunteers and local churchgoers of St. Bernadette Parish for the occasion.
He says the chapel now officially named St. Mark’s Chapel, was commissioned by Father Eric Pannike, but due to COVID restrictions, the official dedication had to be delayed.
Chi adds the naming not only acknowledges St. Mark, but also pays homage to Mark Frolick, a teacher with over 15 years of religious involvement within both the school and wider community.
