Preparing for the writ

The writ for the provincial election has yet to drop, but all three local candidates in the Algoma-Manitoulin riding are already out and about meeting potential voters.

Incumbent New Democrat Mike Mantha will attend the Day of Mourning in Elliot Lake today while Conservative candidate, Cheryl Fort is making her way to Manitoulin Island for an event on Friday where she will be introduced to the public at a come and go tea in Mindemoya.

Liberal Tim Vine says he has already started going door-to-door across the North Shore to introduce himself to the public.

He adds a month ago, he considered moving to Ottawa but changed his mind and will be staying in the riding taking on a new position in Elliot Lake next month.
