Elliot Lake council has given its consent to appoint a new Deputy Clerk.
Amanda Laurence, who is an employee with the city, was unanimously endorsed by council this week in the new position of Deputy Clerk and Accessibility Coordinator.
She filled the positions in an acting role since January, and prior to that was the city’s Community Development Officer.
