Staff and students in Rainbow Schools will mark International Day of Forests today.
Education director Bruce Bourget says the schools have been given a variety of ideas to teach students about the history of trees and the significance of forests
He adds students will also learn how trees provide invaluable resources needed to sustain life by reducing noise and water pollution, especially greenhouse gases.
Bourget adds this month’s focus is part of the monthly challenges issued by the Board’s Environmental Committee throughout the school year.
