Retirement gathering planned for long-time employee Darla Hennessey

Elliot Lake’s Darla Hennessey will be feted at a special gathering to mark her retirement after decades of working with the City of Elliot Lake in different capacities.

Darla Hennessey retired from the City of Elliot Lake on December 31st.

According to the release from the city, she started out as the museum curator in 1997 and was hired full-time in 2007 to oversee organizing and executing several events including the North Shore Challenge Drag Races, Winterfest, Uranium Festival and so much more.

She retired as Manager of Recreation and Culture.

A come and go event is being hosted at the Collins Hall on Saturday, March 19th, from 2-4 pm and the public is invited to attend to wish her well in her retirement.
