Elliot Lake’s St. Joseph’s General Hospital is expecting the rest of their new beds soon and that means putting the retired beds to good use.
Hospital CEO Jeremy Stevenson says they just received another 12 new beds and will receive the rest over the next few weeks.
He says the beds’ arrival comes after a successful fundraising campaign to raise $324,000 for 54 new units.
He adds many of the retired beds are still functional and usable, so the hospital would like to offer them free to partner organizations and community members in need.
Any individual or organization interested in obtaining one or more of the retired beds can find the link on our websites.
Stevenson says they come as is and a non-liability waiver form will accompany each donation.
