Espanola rocks it out on the rocks

Congratulations to Espanola High Schools Girls and Boys curling teams who rocked it out to take the top spot at NOSSA.

Ten teams took part in the Northern championships this week in Sudbury including the teams from Espanola High and a girl’s team from Manitoulin Secondary.

This marks the first time in Espanola High School history that both Boys and Girls have swept the NOSSA Curling Championships.

Mount Defour hosting ski race 

Mount Dufour in Elliot Lake is hosting a weekend of ski races at the site.

Organizers says the kitchen and bar is now open and vaccination proof is not required.

The club is hosting a big ski race over the next three days.

Espanola & District Snowmobile Club hosting meeting

With a few more weeks of sledding still ahead, the public is encouraged to come out to Boogie Mountain for a meeting hosted by the Espanola & District Snowmobile Club.

The club will be hosting their next club meeting next Wednesday, March 9th at 7pm

The club also extended a big thank you to Guy’s Auto in Espanola who opened his shop for repairs to their two groomers.
