Manitoulin Island man faces charges after snowmobile goes through the ice

A Manitoulin Island man is facing charges after a snowmachine went through the ice.

OPP Constable Tessa Kasch says police officers were called out on Saturday evening to respond to a report of a snowmobile that had gone through the ice in the North Channel, on Lake Huron.

She says the investigation revealed the operator was prohibited from driving.

She says a 36-year-old man from Little Current has been charged with breach, driving with no insurance and operating a vehicle while under suspension.

Kasch adds he is to appear in Gore Bay court April 19th.
