The Government of Canada is investing in Science North to engage students and teachers across Northern Ontario and in First Nation communities in coding and digital skills programming through CanCode 3.0.

According to François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, after four successful years of Science North delivering the programming to over 100,000 students and teachers the federal government is providing Science North with $2.5 million.

Champagne adds to drive economic success, the government supports young Canadians in the digital Science North has a mandate to serve all Northern Ontario. This funding helps Science North engage with Indigenous peoples and help kids get hands-on with technology when they might not otherwise be able to.

Science North’s previous program has reached 95,000 students with 11,700 teachers participating in educator workshops and accessed online resources.
