The Ontario government announced on Friday that it will add 228 new and upgraded beds in six long-term care homes in Northern Ontario.
As part of the project, 32 new LTC beds will be added at St. Joseph’s Manor in Elliot Lake bringing the total number of beds to 96.
CEO Jeremy Stevenson says the announcement is wonderful news for everyone who lives and works in long-term care adding the need for more beds in the community is critical.
He stresses the increase will allow 32 more residents to remain in the community with their family and friends.
