Looking to the future – Zoom planned for Blind River residents

Blind River residents are being given the opportunity to help guide the town’s future through a Zoom community meeting.

The Town of Blind River is planning to host a Zoom meeting to discuss the future of the town, various local projects, health issues, and moving ahead with COVID.

Mayor Sally Hagman says there will be several speakers including Algoma Public Health personnel who will be giving an overview of the opioid crisis in Algoma, and steps on educating the public.

She adds Graeme Lowry, CEO, and president of North Shore Power Group will be providing an overview on the initiatives of NSPG and Omni and how they are working together on eliminating the town’s debt with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

Hagman says taxpayers will also be provided an overview of 2022 by town treasurer, Sue Dent. Karen Bittner, the municipality’s Director of Facility and Community Services will also be showcasing local success stories.

The Zoom meeting is set for next Tuesday from 7 pm to 9 pm.
