Cambrian College signs Okanagan Charter

Cambrian College has signed an international pledge to promote health and well-being on campus.

College president Bill Best says Cambrian is the first college in Northern Ontario and the fourth college in Ontario to become a signatory of the Charter.

He says the Okanagan Charter was developed in Kelowna, British Columbia in 2015 with input from delegates from 45 countries and has two main calls to action: embed health into all aspects of campus culture, and lead health promotion action and collaboration.

As part of the initiative, a full-time wellness coordinator has been hired, a team of specially trained students called Wellness Ninjas will oversee programs and supports for their peers and a newsletter will be produced for and by staff and students alike.
