Manitoulin OPP looking for auxiliary applicants

The Manitoulin OPP is looking for auxiliary applicants.

Constable Tessa Kasch says auxiliary members assist officer with their duties including regular patrols, and with community events such as seat belt clinics and RIDE initiatives.

She says it is an unpaid volunteer position but does involve an eight-day Auxiliary Recruit Training Course and a commitment of up to ten hours on patrol as well as six hours of training every month.

Kasch says applications must be at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and drivers’ licence and be certified in standard First Aid and CPR.
