A convoy of trucks leaves Calgary today, heading east to Saturday’s planned anti-vaccine rally on Parliament Hill.

The truckers are upset at new federal rules which require them to be vaccinated against COVID-19 before they re-enter Canada, if they wish to avoid testing requirements and a 14-day quarantine.

The convoy was organized by a group called “Canada Unity,” which opposes public health mandates.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance is denouncing the protest, saying drivers should be complying with public health requirements.

It adds the vast majority of truckers are vaccinated, in line with levels seen in the general public.
