Local municipalities approve Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan for LaCloche Foothills

The municipalities of Baldwin, Espanola, Nairn and Hyman and Sables-Spanish Rivers have approved a new Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan for the LaCloche Foothills region.

According to the release, as the communities share many of the same service providers and organizations, the LaCloche Foothills Municipal Association agreed to the development of the joint plan.

It was developed by Investigative Solutions Incorporated, consultants retained by the Town of Espanola, through the Ontario Community Safety and Policing Grant.

The plan included community meetings and a survey highlighting four key areas to focus on: mental health and addictions, affordable housing, access to services and seniors.

The implementation strategy includes a committee to support various local groups to take lead roles in the implementation of the various key areas of the plan
