Robbery in Elliot Lake
A residential robbery is being investigated by East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police.
Constable Phil Young says officers were called to a residence on Chalmers Crescent in Elliot Lake just after 11:30 pm Monday night.
He says a person allegedly entered the residence, threatened the complainant with a long gun, stole money, and then left.
Young adds the person is described as male, 5’8″ to 6′ tall, wearing a black hockey-style mask, skateboard shoes with white laces and a ball-cap.
He says anyone with any information is asked to contact OPP or Crime Stoppers.
Manitoulin OPP has made an arrest in connection to a stolen vehicle
A 21-year-old from Sheguiandah is facing charges after police say they stole a vehicle.
Constable Tessa Kasch says on January 17th just before 9 am, officers responded to calls of a stolen vehicle on Laurier Lane in Carnarvon Township.
She says police observed the stolen vehicle for a short time later and followed it from Highway 6 to Morphet’s Sideroad.
Kasch says the vehicle was found in a ditch and a driver and passenger fled on foot.
She says one person was found, a 21-year-old from Sheguiandah (SHEG-ah-win-duh) who has been charged with possession of stolen property.
Kasch says the accused is to appear in Gore Bay court on March 30th.
The investigation is continuing.
