Drug warrant results in multiple charges in Espanola

A search warrant in Espanola has netted drugs and related paraphernalia.

Manitoulin OPP Constable Tessa Kasch says on Tuesday, OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on John Street and found electronic devices, drug paraphernalia, over $9,000 in Canadian currency, almost 80 grams of suspected Fentanyl, and over 22 grams of suspected Cocaine.

She says the estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $10,000.

Kasch says a 36-year-old man from Sudbury has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, obstruction, resisting arrest and possession of property obtained by crime.

He is to appear in Espanola court today.

She adds a 35-year-old man from Espanola was also charged with possession and is to appear in Espanola court on March 7th.

 

Manitoulin OPP investigate weapons call in Webbwood

OPP Responding to a disturbance call has led to charges for a Webbwood man.

Manitoulin OPP Constable Tessa Kasch says on Tuesday afternoon, officers were called to a disturbance on Young Street in Webbwood.

She says the complainant reported an acquaintance had a firearm and was under court order not to possess weapons.

She says a 32-year-old from Webbwood was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, breach and possession of meth.

Kasch says the man is to appear in Espanola court on March 7th.

 

Neighbour dispute results in charges in Espanola

An Espanola man is facing charges following a dispute with a neighbour in Espanola.

Manitoulin OPP Constable Tessa Kasch says on Monday evening police investigated a neighbour dispute on Tudhope Street in Espanola with a complainant reported being threatened by a neighbour.

Kasch says the next day officers conducted a traffic stop on Barber Street with the driver fleeing on foot, but he was found a little later and arrested.

She says a 36-year-old from Espanola is charged with three counts of uttering threats, assault and resisting an officer, and is to appear in Espanola court on March 7th.
