Espanola High School invite Manitoulin/Algoma counterparts to Moose Hide Campaign Day

Espanola High School is inviting Manitoulin and Algoma counterparts to Moose Hide Campaign Day in February.

According to the release, Moose Hide Campaign Day is a day of ceremony where all Canadians are asked to take a stand against violence towards women and children.

On Moose Hide Campaign Day, the school invites its counterparts to fast together from sunrise to sunset and resolve to create safe families, communities and a safe country for all women and children.

While the campaign focuses on engaging men and boys in ending violence towards women and children, events have grown over the years to engage all Canadians in ending gender-based and domestic violence.

Women have always held key leadership and ceremonial roles in the Campaign, including co-founder Raven Lacerte, and in recent years events have evolved to include women’s and men’s circle and workshops.

Stay tuned for more on how Espanola High School will be observing this important day with its peers across the districts.
