Firefighters in Baldwin plan for a merry Christmas Eve

It has been a tradition for over 30 years for the Baldwin Township Firefighters to make Christmas Eve a merry time for children and this year is a bit different.

Township CAO Karin Bates says the firefighters go door-to-door in the Village of McKerrow on the fire truck delivering goody bags they have pre-made.

She adds in the past their usual last stop was at Agnes Michon aka Mrs. Claus, where she would have huge trays of goodies for them and be all decked out in her Christmas attire.

Bates says with Michon’s passing earlier this fall, the volunteers will drive by her home to mark her dedication to Christmas and her work in providing literally thousands of toys over several decades to children throughout the North Channel Corridor.

Bates adds it all starts at 6 pm and COVID19 protocols apply.
