Thessalon clinic receives support – remains open

Thessalon’s clinic overseen by the North Shore Health Network will remain open over the holidays.

CEO Richard Joly says the four-bed medical clinic in Thessalon will be able to remain open thanks to the help from the Sault hospital.

Yesterday it was reported that the clinic might have had to close its doors during the holiday.

Joly says the clinic qualifies for four physicians, but there are only two doctors available, and there is a possibility they may be leaving.

Joly adds the network is working with its partners to recruit new staff for the short- and- long-term with a full-time recruiter assisting with the process.

The Thessalon clinic is one of three operated by the North Shore Health Network.

There are also clinics in Blind River and Richard’s Landing and all three have 24-hour, seven-days-a-week emergency department coverage.
