The Manitoulin OPP is investigating a fatal collision.
OPP Constable Tessa Kasch says Saturday evening shortly after 7 pm, OPP and the United Council of Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin Police Service with the assistance of the Sudbury-Manitoulin Paramedic Services responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Campbell Line Road in Central Manitoulin Township.
She says the single motor vehicle with a lone driver left the roadway and entered the ditch.
Kasch says the driver of the vehicle, 82-year-old Douglas Cavener, from Thorndale was pronounced deceased at the scene.
She adds the investigation is ongoing and a post-mortem examination will take place in Sudbury this week.
