Unique challenge for students – are you up to the code?

Students and teachers across the Algoma District are invited to join in the global movement “Hour of Code”

Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre communications director Lori McDonald says students across the Algoma region can take part in the one-hour coding activity during Computer Science Education Week from December 6th- 12th for a chance to win some prizes.

She says the Hour of Code, organized by the non-profit Code.org and its partners, is a global movement that believes the students of today are ready to learn critical skills for 21st-century success, especially when it comes to computer science.

She adds the centre is sponsoring the challenge and will award two randomly drawn prizes from selected entries.

Students and teachers can get started by checking out the Up for the Challenge page on the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre’s website and clicking on the Hour of Code challenge where they will find all the resources needed to participate. Email [email protected]
