Elliot Lake hospital continues bed campaign

Elliot Lake’s St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation has kicked off its annual Tree of Lights fundraiser continuing its campaign into 2022 to replace up to 54 beds in the facility.

This year’s campaign pays homage to two long-time Elliot Lake residents, the late Bob Stirling and the late Wilma Ingram, well-known volunteers within the community.

The cost of replacing the beds is estimated at $324,000.

The public can purchase bulbs for $10 each or three for $25 in memory of a loved one or to share a Christmas greeting.

The official lighting of the tree takes place this Sunday at 7 pm in front of the hospital.

COVID19 protocols are in place.
