Algoma Public Health says if you want your flu shot, it will be soon available in some areas in the Algoma district.

The agency adds residents can also obtain a free flu shot from their primary healthcare provider and participating pharmacies in the area, but will likely have to be put on a waiting list.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts state this year’s vaccine offers protection against four strains of the virus with it taking up to two weeks for the vaccine to offer full flu protection.

The public is advised to book appointments through family physicians, pharmacies or the health unit.
