A resident is hoping Sables-Spanish Rivers Township will consider going through the process of changing to a ward system.
Brian Channon says municipalities are just over a year away from another election and he wants to ensure the township, which includes Massey and Webbwood as well as several rural residents, have equal representation.
He says council did try to solve the problem by filling a vacancy with someone from Webbwood, but that move led to loss of representation for some 600 residents of Massey.
Channon says the problem can be easily solved if council puts a motion on the floor to change to a ward system with fair representation based on population.
He says if council will not consider the idea, he is prepared to submit a petition to them for consideration
