Taking steps to fight muscular dystrophy … lots of steps

One of Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s biggest advocates and a firefighter to boot will be taking some steps in the fight against the disease … lots and lots of steps.
Trevor McVey in partnership with the Nairn & Hyman Township Fire Department will be on site at Jeremy’s Truck Stop this Saturday.
McVey says he is doing the Highrise Challenge for three hours from 10 am to 1 pm for the cause.

MvVey says he will literally being going up and down the ladder on the firetruck for the three hours of the challenge.
He adds pledges can be made online and the public can also donate in person the day of the event.
McVey says it will be a great family event with Sparky the Fire Dog, other firefighters, and fire trucks on display.
Muscular dystrophy is the term for a group of diseases that lead the body to become progressively weaker and losing muscle mass and the national foundation has been the charity of choice for firefighters for decades.
Donations can be made online to hghrisechallenge.ca .
