Massey man facing multiple weapons and drug offences

A Massey man is facing several weapons and drug offences following a noise complaint.

Manitoulin OPP Constable Tessa Kasch says on September 26th shortly before nine am police responded to a residence on Government Road in Massey about a noise complaint, but found an armed man instead.

She says the man from Massey was charged with several weapon and drug charges including possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of opioids, cocaine, cannabis and illegal harvesting of cannabis.

Kasch adds the man is to appear in Espanola court on November 12th.

Charges laid include; pointing a firearm, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, possession of a schedule i substance- opioid (other than heroin), possession of a schedule i substance- cocaine, possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four cannabis plants and alter or offer to alter the chemical or physical properties of cannabis by the use of an organic solvent.
