Nairn Troupe #1 Girl Guides will be out this evening putting ribbons on the bridge in Espanola to greet motorists as part of Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Troop leader Leah Campbell says the troop made up of members from Nairn, Espanola and Webbwood, will be at the Old Webbwood Road entrance this evening at five putting ribbons on the bridge in a safe manner.
Tomorrow, there will be a traffic slowdown hosted by Sagamok Youth Council from 12:30 to 3:30 pm at Highway 6 and 17.
And over 300 stones have been painted bright orange with positive messages to greet participants in the Walk of Reflection planned for 7 pm at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex outdoor track.
All schools also have their flags at half-mast and students will hold a minute of silence in the morning.
WC Eaket Secondary School and Mississauga First Nation in Blind River will be hosting a ceremony that is open to the public starting with a walk at the daycare centre parking lot at 10 am.
