Traffic slowdown for Round Dance Awareness in peace, remembrance, and solidarity

The intersection of Highway 6 and 17 will be the scene of a traffic slowdown on Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Sagamok-Anishnawbek First Nation’s Bob Porter says the traffic slowdown will be held from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm with OPP on site this Thursday.
He says the Sagamok Youth Council does not want anyone to forget the growing number of children that are being found in unmarked graves at the sites of former residential schools across the country, adding the slowdown will be an opportunity to share in a peaceful act of peace, remembrance, and solidarity.
Porter says all youth from Robinson treaty territory and Manitoulin Island are invited to attend but adds Sagamok bylaw officers will be on-site to ensure COVID protocols are being observed.
Sagamok First Response Services will be attending to provide First Aid Services
Parking is available in the rear of Northwest Fudge Factory and in front of Goodman’s Motel
