It is the first major sporting event to take place at local schools this year.
Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board’s East District Softball Tournament takes place today, which will include teams from Blind River, Elliot Lake, Massey, and Espanola.
The tournament is being held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Elliot Lake with COVID-19 protocols in place.
The top two teams will represent the east district at the board-wide tournament in Sault Ste. Marie next week.

Members of the Elliot Lake Red Wings will be umping the tourney.
