Work is progressing on one of Espanola’s largest projects, the installation of a new water main bringing treated water into the community.
To accommodate the project, project lead Belanger Construction will be closing Bass Lake Road from the top of the old water tank on the hill along the entire road.
The excavation is needed to install a temporary water feed to the town while the work continues on the new main.
The road will be closed on Wednesday at 9:00 am until 3:00 pm and no vehicles will be able to pass through.
A detour is available but will mean more drive time for those who choose to use this alternative.
The suggested detour is to take Lee Valley Road to Pleasant Valley Road which intersects with Bass Lake Road beyond the landfill (or vice-versa).
