Elliot Lake is just the latest municipality to adopt a policy requiring all city employees and volunteers to have their vaccinations.
Council discussed the policy on Monday evening says CAO Daniel Gagnon.
He says the most effective way in which to deal with an occupational health and safety risk in the workplace is to eliminate the hazard.
He says the city will require all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by November 30th.
Gagnon adds of Elliot Lake requires proof of vaccination from all employees.
Blind River as also is also working on a similar policy with council giving final approval in the near future.
Espanola council also discussed the issue at Tuesday night’s meeting and will host a special meeting on September 23rd to consider implementing a similar policy.
