Coronavirus protests expected

Hospitals across the country are preparing for demonstrations today by those opposed to COVID-19 vaccinations and vaccine passports.

The protests are being organized by “Canadian Frontline Nurses,” a small group of anti-vax nurses which has gained the support of other organizations opposed to mandatory vaccinations.

At least two of its leaders have been fired from their jobs for speaking out against vaccines and other measures to control the spread of COVID-19.

The group has been condemned by several medical groups, including the Canadian Nurses Association, which calls their views “dangerous.”

Premier Doug Ford is calling the protesters “selfish, cowardly, and reckless.”

NDP leader Andrea Horwath is calling on Ford to pass legislation that would create safe zones around hospitals, to reduce harassment of health care workers and patients.
