The Rainbow District School Board has selected a new director of education to replace Norm Blaseg when he retires at the end of the month.
Board Chair Doreen Dewar says Superintendent Bruce Bourget has been appointed to the position.
She says he is a long-time employee of the board who has experience in all aspects of academics who will be focusing on safely reopening Rainbow schools for in-person learning this September.
Bourget joined the Board in 1993 as a teacher working his way up to through the ranks as vice-principal, principal and superintendent of schools.
