Flags lowered in respect for long-time councillor and volunteer

The Town of Blind River has its flags flying at half-mast this week in respect of a long-time councillor and volunteer who passed away late last week.

Alex Solomon, who was born and raised in Blind River, was a town councillor for 17 years and volunteered on several committees and boards including the local police board and North Shore Health Network.

A funeral service will be held on August 14th at the Sellers Park Pavilion with COVID-19 protocols in place.

Solomon passed away on July 27th after a battle with cancer.

He was 69.
