Health Canada has given final approval to the establishment of a government-sanctioned indoor cannabis cultivation facility in Elliot Lake.
Proprietor of GrowUps Incorporated Adam White says he has been retrofitting a building in the city since 2018 to meet government qualifications.
He says his company will produce cannabis in dry bud form and sell in bulk to cannabis shops in the local area.
White says he has created five new jobs but is hoping to have a team of 18 in place within a year.
White adds he is keeping the location of the new business a closely guarded secret for security and other business reasons.
Elliot Lake’s business development corporation known as ELNOS invested $57,000 in establishing the micro-production facility.
