Swimming advisories lifted: Manitoulin Island

Public Health Sudbury & Districts has removed several swimming advisories for beaches on Manitoulin Island.

Last week, the health unit posted advisories at the Maple Ridge Sandy Beach and Gore Bay and Monument Road beaches.

The most recent water samples taken at the beaches by the agency are within acceptable bacteriological water quality standards for bathing beaches and so they are considered once again suitable for recreational use at these beaches.

An advisory is still in place for Mindemoya Public Beach No. 1 for the time being.
