North Shore Tribal Council elects new board chair

A First Nation organization that oversees tourism, community and business development along the North Channel corridor has elected its new executive.

The new chair of Mamaweswen, the North Shore Tribal Council is Serpent River First Nation Chief Brent Bisaillon with Caroline Barry as vice and Harvey Petahtegoose as secretary-treasurer.

Bisaillon takes over the position from Mississauga First Nation Chief Reginald Niganobe who was just elected as Grand Council Chief of the Anishinabek Nation.

The council represents seven First Nations along the north shore of Lake Huron east of Sault Ste. Marie to west of Sudbury.
