Ford to visit wildfire command centre

Premier Ford says he’ll be visiting the command centre in Thunder Bay tomorrow, as wildfires continue to sweep across the northwestern section of our province.

There are currently about 130 blazes being reported, as hot, dry weather continues to dominate the region.

More than three thousand people have been evacuated and another five thousand are on notice to be ready to pull out.

Officials say there have been more than 900 fires in the province so far this year, that’s almost double the average of the past decade.
